In the beginning my kids were a little apprehensive but as we starting to explore the possibilities they became more engaged and exited about what we were planning as a family. The thoughts about family vacations, swimming and biking started to peak their interests. I was happy about the first step, getting the flywheel moving to build up momentum.
We need to get the flywheel moving in our professional lives as well. Unfortunately, many times strategic planning is second to the tactical aspects of our daily jobs. We often find ourselves putting out fires instead of teaching fire prevention. If we can just get started we just may keep that wheel spinning.
